Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th of November, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to get a flawless score of 10 during the Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi, the Romanian gymnastics instructor who later became her coach later on found her around the age of six. Her first competition was at the national junior championships of 1969 and finished 13th. She won the competition in 1970. Her first ever international contest in 1972, she came out on top by winning three gold awards. At her first competitive event in senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva, a Russian athlete, won five gold medals aswell as one silver. The first female ever to successfully perform reverse double saltos while dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Her career in the entertainment business began during her teens when she began skating figure along with her sister Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows known as Ice Capades. Her first job was as a figure skater, performing alongside her sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show named Ice Capades.
