April Lockhart
April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She began the guitar and piano lessons in 7th grade which sparked her interest. When she was 12 years old, April came up with her first original song Different. When she was 14, April spent much time writing and honed her musicianship ability. Then, in the following months, April began traveling with her father as well as write her songs at home in NY and LA. April also included additional topics in her track, Take my Hand. These topics included topics for her friends who dealt with issues such as peer pressure disabilities or even teen suicidal ideas. Lockhart works in partnerships at the well-known Clean Beauty brand Ilia and also is a lifestyle blogger with a huge following of her own. She was born without her left hand, and it's part of who she is--but it's hardly her whole story. Lockhart's Instagram profile doesn't cover up her disability, but it does not concentrate solely on it. What message does it convey? The message? We are all multifaceted, and that our physical and identity bodies aren't what they seem. Lockhart is interviewed through video from Nashville. "I don't want it to define my personal life. I'm not looking to be merely recognized as an expert in disabilities. This doesn't have any effect on my everyday life. I go about everything normally and I've found the best way for me to adapt the things. But, I consider that it is a crucial part of myself. Lockhart encourages us to keep striving to be self-accepting. She has been through times when she was uncomfortable the way she dressed and exposed her arms. Now, though she dons what she's comfortable in and post images of her outfits to social media with pride. Self-love, she says, is a kind of journey. "I believe that you'll ever get in that place," she said. However, that is typical for people with doubts. The people around you with who truly know you, and can see through your eyes are the best people to help you remember what you're worried about.
