While I had one baby with me, and other babies within the cradle worked 12 hours a day sanding flooring and tearing off wallpaper. Ha! It was all falling into place, but there was still a long way to go. The project would require lots of time and money and my personal favorite brands furnishings for this house. In order to stay in the realm of budgets, I took to by taking my sons to estate sales looking for of diamonds. Our weekly routine which consisted of spending the week from the week of Thursday to Saturday scouring estate and garage sales, buying old and new items. I spent the rest of the week working on painting and sanding the driveway. My first impression was like... This is the moment my love for restoring furniture started. I continued to restore furniture even after we had furnished our house. Markets in town had room for me to sell pieces. Then I bought more that I knew what to do with and outgrew the space. Then I began hosting open houses at my house where over 1 000 people would come through in a single weekend and could purchase anything they wanted on the ground floor. It was here that my business Growing Days was born. The business I was running was growing however my family was also growing. In a way, I had found the perfect way to balance being a mom and starting my new company. Growing Days seemed like the best combination. The year was 2013, and my beautiful daughter Nora came along our 4th kiddo. It was a great direction for my business, but I also needed some time off. I took some time away from the old furniture in order to spend more quality time with my kids. It was the ideal thing to do. It wasn't until a couple of months that the phones started to call. Calls came in asking me for help with the interior design and renovations of their home. It was mostly those that came to my residence to buy furniture. I began taking on customers one by one taking my time however it wasn't long before I had multiple accounts and was running a complete home renovation business. I'm sure you would have made me laugh if you had said that this would become the basis of the DIY Network tv series. Indeed, I am laughing a little when I remember the episode.
